Connect Meta Pixel, Conversions API, Google Analytics and Google Ads

Send Omni Pass sign-ups, wishlists, reviews, referrals and your app’s shopping events to your own Meta and Google accounts, the way each platform recommends.

What gets sent

Things shoppers do in Vikalp: joining Omni Pass, redeeming rewards, saving to a wishlist, back-in-stock sign-ups, reviews, referral shares and notification sign-ups. From your app: product views, searches, carts, checkouts and orders paid in the app.

Website page views, carts and orders are reported by Shopify’s Facebook & Instagram and Google & YouTube apps. Keep them installed; Vikalp adds only what they can’t see, so nothing is counted twice.

1. Meta Pixel and Conversions API

  1. In Meta Events Manager, open your pixel and copy its ID.
  2. In the pixel’s Settings, under Conversions API, generate an access token.
  3. In Vikalp → Settings → Tracking, switch on Meta, paste both and save. Each website event goes to the pixel in the browser and to the Conversions API with the same event ID, so Meta keeps one copy.

2. Google Analytics 4

  1. In Google Analytics, open Admin → Data streams → your web stream and copy the measurement ID (G-…).
  2. In the same stream, open Measurement Protocol API secrets and create one.
  3. Paste both in Vikalp → Settings → Tracking. If your website’s Google tag already uses that ID, events go through it; otherwise Vikalp sends them to Google directly.

3. Google Ads

Create a conversion action for each event you want to count (for example Joined Omni Pass), and paste its tag ID (AW-…) and label in Vikalp. For your app’s events, mark them as key events in Google Analytics and import them into Google Ads.

4. Check it works

Add a test event code from Meta’s Test events tab, save, and click Send a test event. It appears in Meta’s Test events and Google Analytics Realtime within a minute. Remove the test code afterwards.

Use the event names in custom pixels or Google Tag Manager: Vikalp publishes each one to Shopify’s customer events and the dataLayer as vikalp_<event>, for example vikalp_omni_pass_join.

Privacy and consent

On your website, events follow your cookie banner (Shopify’s customer privacy settings). Meta gets shoppers’ email, phone and name only as one-way hashes. Store owners without the Meta or Google channel apps can let Vikalp add the Meta Pixel and Google tag to the website.
